Far and away the best Italian in the area.
Not gourmet by any means, but most dishes are very tasty, and the service is good/friendly for the most part. The owner is a very nice and friendly guy, and is there almost every night.
I really hope this place stays around. My parents love it, too, and they always want to go here whenever they come visit.
Tip: There are some hidden menu items. They will do chicken parmgiana upon request, and there is a vegetable puree type soup which they will usually do for you, even though it's not always on the menu. -

Very good Italian restaurant. The staff were very good with their service level and the food was delicious. It was served in large portions and in oversized serving dishes. Everything was just very nice and the 4-star os well deserved. I certainly want to come back and try their other dishes the menu. We had the Veal dish and the tasty meat Lasagna - which also had boiled eggs in it - sort of unique but it worked. Had the tasty and sizable Tiramisu to finish things up. All on the high note!!

Excellent meals again. The special white fish was amazing. Great spot.

Marcellos is a wonderful restaurant hidden away in a strip mall adjacent to the Thousand Oaks mall. A quiet and elegant setting that is not too loud. It is what I referred to as "higher end" Italian, so do not expect spaghetti and meatballs and calzones. It is my go to place for birthdays and New Years dinner.

The atmosphere inside Marcello's is very comfortable and relaxed. The service was great, servers quite attentive.
Our meal started out with the delicious warm bread and the most amazing basil, garlic, olive oil dipping sauce. We ordered the crispy calamari and crude di tunno. The calamari was presented with lemon and warm marinara sauce. It wasn't anything special, just ok. On the other hand, the tuna was amazing, paper thin tuna slices with capers and seasonings. Delicious!
Menu choices were typical of an Italian restaurant. I ordered the wild Scottish salmon which was listed with cabbage and squash purée. I asked the waiter if the squash has cream in it and he said yes. Not being a fan of cream, I asked if the cream could be left off or substituted for something else and was told the squash will arrive without the cream. When my dish came, I noticed the salmon beautifully presented, with a few cabbage pieces under the circular salmon filet and tasteful onions on the borders. The squash was not visible so I asked the waiter who then revised his response to tell me the cream could not be separated from the squash as a result, I got nothing. Would have been nice to let me know this when I initially inquired.
My hubby and our friend both ordered the trout, which was presented with a balsamic caramelized onions, raisins and pine nuts. We all commented how it would have been a nice compliment if our entrees also included a side of pasta or in the case of the trout, a veggie.
We shared a bottle of wine and opted to pass on dessert.
Parking is easy and free in the lot out front.
